About Sanskriti
A Toronto dance community where Indian movement, performance, discipline, and belonging meet.
The story
Founded in 2003, Sanskriti Arts grew around Puja Amin’s vision for a Canadian home where Indian dance could be studied, performed, shared, and continually reimagined.
Across classes, ensembles, events, and collaborations, the organization’s legacy is one of people discovering confidence through disciplined creative work.
Our philosophy
Training gives dancers the tools to move with clarity, musicality, and intention.
Performance becomes a way to tell stories, take creative risks, and build confidence.
Tradition is engaged as a living source—not a decorative layer.
Shared practice creates connection across generations, backgrounds, and stages.
Founder
A Toronto-based performer, choreographer, educator, and the founder of Sanskriti Arts.

Puja Amin established Sanskriti Arts in Toronto in 2003, bringing together students from varied dance and cultural backgrounds around a shared commitment to performance and growth.
At the centre of her practice is the belief that dance can dissolve boundaries and help people empower themselves through movement.
